The 'Kerala Incredible India' float represented India at the prestigious Lord Mayor's Show 2011,a procession held through the streets of London on November 12 to welcome the new Lord Mayor.

Artistes presenting Mohiniyattom and Kathakali,and Chenda ensemble were the highlight of the float presented in the ceremonial parade taken out from the Mansion House,the official residence of the Lord Mayor,to the Royal Courts of Justice,where the newly elected Lord Mayor took his oath of allegiance to the Sovereign before the Lord Chief Justice and the Judges of the Queen's Bench Division, before returning to the Mansion House.

With this event Kerala has become the second State in the country to participate in the event. Jammu and Kashmir made its presence in London last year with a Shikhara float.

The High Commission of India,London,secured a place for India's participation in the event,and Kerala Promotions,set up by three Non-Resident Keralites based in London took up the responsibility to showcase Kerala during the parade that covered a distance of three miles.

Kerala Promotions roped in professional Malayalee artistes from London for the event. Four member Chenda Melam team from Croydon provided the chenda melam treat on the float.

Traditionally organised on the second Saturday of the month of November, the event is the largest unrehearsed procession in the world.

Up to 6,000 people took part in the annual parade, which featured 71 floats, 21 carriages, 150 horses and 20 marching bands.
