Our third Inspiring Alumni event with Mairéad Brown, former Project Trust Volunteer.
In this inspiring talk, Mairéad shares how her year with Project Trust in Japan (98/99) pulled her out of both poverty and depression. Just six weeks after being evicted for the second time in a year, securing a place with Project Trust felt like winning a golden ticket to a brighter future. Mairéad talks about how her year restored her faith in humanity and gave her the self-esteem to pursue higher education. It also set her on a path that has taken her around the world and into a sustainability consultancy, where she tackles climate change and broader social challenges around inequality and democracy.
We also hear from Faith, a current Thailand Volunteer and recipient of our Access Fund Bursary, who will share the incredible impact of her year so far and how her placement is shaping her journey.
