SURFIN: Surface quality inspection system for hot metal products

SURFIN is a surface quality analysis and inspection system to be used in hot metal products (1000 ºC), employing image processing and automated learning systems technologies. The solution is placed on line and can detect defects at the early stages in the production process when the product is incandescent (before they cool down) performing hot inspection, and thus drastically reduces the quantity of generated defective material.

The SURFIN system automatically inspects metallic surfaces, detecting and classifying roll marks, cracks and other surface defects in products such as bars, tubes, billets, slabs, beam blanks or structural profiles.
