Trains at North Adelaide
Today we visit North Adelaide, situated as the first stop north of Adelaide on the Gawler Line.
The station opened in 1857, and features the oldest surviving station building on the Gawler Line. Despite proximity to the CBD, North Adelaide is the least used station in the city, with trains only stop during peak hours on Weekdays.
The Gawler Line is currently served by Adelaide Metro’s 4000 Class EMUs which now operate entirely on the line since electrification in 2022. A standard gauge line runs to the west of the station, which Freight & JBR Trains run along.
