後院通（こういんどおり）
後院通は京都市中京区にある通り
京都は東西南北に走る碁盤の目の通りが有名だが
この後院通は斜めに走る少し変わった通りとなる
通りが作られたのは明治時代で都市開発を進める中
路面電車を引くために作られた道となる
現在は路面電車は廃止されてしまったが
幹線道路として交通量が多い道となっている

Koin-dori
Koin-dori Street is located in Nakagyo Ward, Kyoto City.
Kyoto is famous for its grid-like streets running north-south, east-west, and north-south,
but Koin-dori Street runs diagonally, making it a slightly unusual street.
It was built during the Meiji period as part of urban development,
and was originally constructed to accommodate streetcars.
While the streetcar service has now been discontinued, it remains a busy main road.
