Giant Ship Transiting SUEZ CANAL At Night For The First Time | Rare Sight |

Welcome back to another Day At Sea
In this video - I shall be taking you all through the Suez Canal onboard Munkebo Maersk At Night . Yes you heard that right guys , it's the first time we all will be going into the narrow suez during the Dark Hours .

It was indeed a scary thought at first but the night lapse has managed to capture the entire journey beautifully .

The ship was fully loaded and needed to be navigated very gently as due to the box type construction of the lady , it is prone to heavy bank suction effect .

The Captain of the ship was on the Navigation Bridge throughout the journey with the Egyptian Pilots assisting as required.

The reporting to the Suez canal authority had to be crisp and clear as there was no margin for error . ( Especially after the grounding of the evergiven ship - Evergreen )

But before we transited the Suez Canal we had to drop our Anchor at night to wait for the convoy number & pilot berthing time . During the anchorage there were alot of authorities coming onboard to check the paper work of the vessel .

Surprisingly our time to heave up the anchor was way beyond the standard time & that was the Biggest Surprise for all of us .
The reason was due to the fact that a ship in the canal had lost its steering and got stuck - blocking the northbound channel .

Overall it was a very surreal moment with 200,000 tons moving through a 100 width channel at night . Although the backscatter from the city lights were really mesmerizing & not to forget the DJ lights on the bridge LIT up the whole show ( except for the captain - as he had to pay solid concentration )
