Fishing The White Perch Migration On The Choptank River!! (New Species Caught! First of 2025!)

First trip out of state this year! I had made the 2hr drive to the Shoptalk River in hopes of targeting Alewife which were spawning in schools by the hundreds just a week prior. Heavy rain over the weekend may have temporarily pushed the Alewifes out, but I was greeted by many hungry White Perch that had no trouble biting at all! The action was nonstop with fish almost every cast! Later in the day I switched to microfiching to target a smaller species of fish that was also moving upriver.....
