GLACIERS EVERYWHERE: OMG, SUMMITING Boundary Peak

Boundary Peak is located at the Columbia Icefields, along the World Famous, Icefields Parkway in Jasper National Park, Alberta Canada. This trail is not a Hike, it is a Scramble. If you like glaciers, this is the trail for you. Along the route you will get awesome views of the Athabasca Glacier, Little A 1 Glacier and from the summit a stunning view of Boundary Glacier. Once on the summit you will be standing between Banff and Jasper National Parks.

August 11/2025 Summer Hike
Our hike today is 7.4 kilometers, 4.6 miles, out and back with an elevation gain of 897 meters, 2940 feet. Due the amount of footage I had I decided to make this video into 2 parts. This is Part 1.

The trail starts out with about a 1 kilometer walk up a road to get to the true trailhead. Right from here you will start to gain elevation fast. For this portion there is a trail that you can follow. Almost immediately you will start and get views looking back. At 1.4k the trail becomes a little rockier. Soon you will enter a meadow area, and the trail eases up a little bit. As you make you way up the trail the views of A1 glacier just get better and better. Around 1.8k the trail gets rockier and steeper. Once again, the trail will ease up into another meadow section. From here get ready to start working, you turn right and start heading up to the top of the ridge. Now there is now more trail, and the only direction to go is up. There are large rocks and boulders that you have to weave your way through, and this is where the scrambling starts. Once you gain the ridge get ready for a jaw dropping view of Little A1 glacier just below Mount Athabasca. If this was the end of the hike, I would have been more than happy. Take it all in while you can. From here you will see your next objective to you left, Boundary Peak, with a scree slope that goes straight up. You will go through a little bit of a rocky section to get there. We have now hiked 2.95 kilometers, and we have had 615 meters in elevation gain.
