Since 1991, the Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine at the University of Utah has annually recognized accomplished alumni and friends with the MedExcellence Awards. Awards are presented in the following categories: Distinguished Alumni Award, Distinguished Humanitarian Award, Distinguished Service Award, Community Clinician Educator Award, and alternating presentation of the Golden Anniversary Prize for Distinguished Clinical Investigation and the M. Paul Southwick Prize for Clinical Excellence and Teaching Award.
