Today on Grossman World, we take a look back at America's Neighborhood Pharmacy... Rite Aid, started by Alex Grass in 1962 eventually became one of America's largest pharmacies / store chains you could shop at in America. At a peak of over 5000 locations, Rite Aid was neck and neck with other pharmacy giants like Walgreens and CVS. Through a series of risky acquisitions and fraudulent business practices, Rite Aid would slowly face their demise. Now in 2025, Rite Aid has just announced they are closing their remaining 89 stores. I take a look at one still standing here in Brewster, NY - as well as give history on the rise and fall of such an iconic brand.
