A grieving sister is urging federal intervention in Baltimore's crime fight, advocating for the deployment of the National Guard to the city. Stacie Arias, whose brother Michael Cudnik was murdered in 2017, shared her emotional testimony Tuesday, highlighting the personal impact of violent crime in the city.
"It's very personal, it's very personal. We don't feel safe and my brother is unfortunately a statistic of Baltimore City and just how unsafe it is," said Arias. Her brother, affectionately known as Mikey, was 22 years old when he was gunned down during what Arias described as a marijuana deal gone bad. Despite having DNA evidence, a murder weapon, and video footage, no arrests have been made in his case.
