My first attempt at flying the Cessna 172 from Kathmandu to the world’s most dangerous airport — Lukla (VNLK) — didn’t exactly go as planned.
I got lost in the Himalayas, had to make some tight turns to avoid terrain, and on final approach came in too high… resulting in a stall and a crash just short of the runway.
This was all part of the learning curve. Next time, I’ll be back with a better route and hopefully a successful landing. For now, enjoy the raw challenge of flying into Lukla!
