In Blixembosch, in het noorden van Eindhoven (NL) is een bijzondere buurt verrezen die vol staat met 'Amerikaanse' vrije sectorhuizen. Als randvoorwaarde hanteerde de Welstandscommissie dat ieder huis de 'look' en 'feel' moest hebben van Amerikaanse architectuur. De Welstandscommissie moest soms stevig rukken en trekken om dat in ieder ontwerp te bereiken. Een aantal eigenaren waren vooral gericht op een zoveel mogelijk 'Hollands' huis.

In Blixembosch, in the north of Eindhoven (NL), a unique neighborhood has sprung up, filled with ‘American’ private sector homes. The Building Appearance Committee stipulated that every house had to have the ‘look’ and ‘feel’ of American architecture. The Building Appeals Committee sometimes had to pull out all the stops to achieve this in every design. A number of owners were primarily focused on creating a house that was as ‘Dutch’ as possible.
