World's End, Denbighshire, Wales.

I will soon have to start calling this channel (not) Suffolk Air Adventures, hopefully I will be able to find some free time to actually get out and film in Suffolk before the Summer's end!

This was my second flight in what I term mountains, others will laugh at me calling them so but from where I come from they are pretty big hills!

Another lovely late Summers evening out with the family, I managed to persuade Mrs SAA to drop me off for about an hour to fly/film. Both her and junior SAA disappeared down the winding valley road, would I ever see them again?

It certainly is a isolated but wonderfully beautiful place...

I set up again with no particular plan other than don't crash, it was pretty windy up at the head of the valley but I managed to get both the Mini 2 and Air2S up and back without any problems.

Hopefully it is an improvement on my Crimea Pass video, I felt more confident flying along the tops of the mountains and hopefully it shows.

Some of the shots are quite vertigo enducing and you really get a feel for the sheer drop to the fields below.

I was also amazed at the contrast in colours which are amazing, hopefully I have managed to capture the full effect.

While it is a quiet location, I met a very nice gent who had been climbing the rock face (rather him than me).

We spent a good few minutes chatting about the location and drones.

I'm sorry I didn't get your name but it was a pleasure meeting you and you are lucky to live in such a place.

So like clockwork, family SAA returned and after another brief spell of filming down at the head of the valley, as the sun began to set I called it a day,

I don't have any specific details on the location, so rather lazily here is what wonderful Wikipedia has to say.

World's End (Welsh: Pen Draw'r Byd) is a narrow vale located between Wrexham and Llangollen in Denbighshire, Wales. It lies at the head of the Eglwyseg Valley, enclosed by the cliffs of Craig y Forwyn, Craig y Cythraul, and Craig yr Adar.

The area is popular with walkers, cyclists and tourists (no mention of dronies!)

The Offa's Dyke Path passes through World's End.

World's End lies on a single track road from the small village of Minera near Wrexham, which crosses Esclusham Mountain and the Ruabon Moors to a public car park at the top of the Eglwyseg valley. The road crosses the Eglwyseg River by a ford,[2] then goes on towards Pentre Dŵr, under the Horseshoe Pass, leading eventually to Llangollen or onto the Panorama in Trevor.

Near World’s End is the manor house Plas Ucha yn Eglwyseg, built in 1563. It was for a time the home of John Jones Maesygarnedd, one of the signatories of the death warrant for Charles I of England.[3] The building is said to stand on the site of a hunting lodge of Owain ap Cadwgan, prince of Powys, where Owain carried Nest (daughter of Rhys ap Tewdwr) when he stole her away from her husband Gerald de Windsor in 1109.

There are a number of small limekilns at World's End, probably dating from the later 18th- or early 19th-century, and there are also traces of a short-lived lead and silver mine in operation between the 1860s and 1880s.
