Welcome to my last project of my summer holidays. I have detailed my friend Dave's R8 and RS5 a number of times over the years. This 2013 RS5 is just a superb car and I had planned on performing a thorough exterior wash and interior detail. About half way through the project, I decided to go all out and perform a correction, polish and coating since a package sent to me from the team at Ethos finally arrived after being stuck in transit for over a month! In preparation for my first ever application of Ethos Graphene Coating. I experienced considerable frustration finding the right pad/polish combination to address the paint on this car. I tried almost everything I had in the arsenal until I landed on the MEGS 105/205 combo. I used Rupes wool pads with the 105 and Leno's Garage Microfiber pads with the 205 using both of my Rupes polishers. I used Essence+ on the PPF portion of the car in combination with Rupes yellow pads. In the video, you will see me experiment with Adam's One Step Polish, Rupes Medium, Adam's Correction and even some Menzerna polishes along with an assortment of foam, microfiber and wool pads. In the end, the MEGS duo got the paint where I wanted it to be. I performed a full interior detail, but given the time constraints, I didn't film that part of the process. I did include a few before and after pics though.
