The BIG mistake I made in the first session of my D&D campaign

I made it about 90 minutes into my first real campaign before I made a huge mistake. Not bad, really.

It’s a quick story, but I think my mistake was a common one for early dungeon masters. The key is, you can’t trust your players to act in any one way or another. If there is something in your game you want them to face, then put it in their way. Make sure they have to deal with it, or else they can’t get their quest complete, or save the NPC, or whatever.
