Meriofert - how to apply

The medication is available in: 75 IU and 150 IU
The preparation and application steps are the same for both.
What You’ll Need:
• Pre-filled injection with dilution fluid
• Vial containing powdered medication
• Coarse needle (for mixing)
• Fine needle (for injection)
• Disinfectant squares
Before You Begin:
1. Wash your hands thoroughly.
2. Remove the cap from the vial containing the powder.
3. Prepare a syringe with dilution fluid on which to insert the coarse needle.
4. Remove the cap from the needle and inject the liquid into the vial with powder.
5. Then suck the diluted liquid and powder back into the syringe.
6. Replace the needle on the syringe with a thinner (application) needle.
Application:
• Choose the injection site (about 3 cm around the navel).
• Clean the area with a disinfectant square.
• Remove the needle cap. Hold the syringe upwards and gently push out any air, being careful not to expel the medication.
• Use your thumb and forefinger to create a fold of skin.
• Insert the needle at a 90° angle and press the plunger until the full dose is administered.
• Release the skin fold, wait a few seconds, and then carefully remove the needle.
After the injection:
• Confirm that the full dose has been administered.
• Dispose of the needle and syringe in a proper sharps container.
• Disinfect the injection site once more.
