※福島県会津美里町宮林甲4377にある伊佐須美神社の末社に殺生石稲荷神社があります。殺生石の霊を慰め災害をなくすために天保年間の頃に祭祀が復興されたとされています!庶民の崇敬を集め、殖産興業や商売繁昌に霊験があるとされています。
※「九尾の狐」伝説に由来する殺生石
平安時代末期、鳥羽上皇の寵愛を受けた玉藻前（たまものまえ）は九尾の狐(妖狐)で、正体が見破られた後、宮中を脱走します。陰陽師・安部泰成を軍師にした討伐軍は、下野国那須野原(栃木県那須郡周辺)で九尾の狐を討ち取るのですが、討ち取られた九尾の狐は巨大な毒石になってしまいます。毒石に近づく人間や動物が死んでしまう事から「殺生石」(せっしょうせき)と呼ばれるようになりました。那須野原のこの殺生石、至徳2年（1385年）に玄翁和尚(げんのう おしょう)によって打ち砕かれ、そのかけらが全国の「高田」と呼ばれる場所に飛散しました。打ち砕かれた石がこの地にも飛んできたという伝承。

※Sessho-seki Inari Shrine is a branch shrine of Izasumi Shrine at 4377 Miyabayashi-ko, Aizu Misato-machi, Fukushima Prefecture. It is said that the ritual was revived around the Tenpo era to appease the spirit of the Sessho-seki and to prevent disasters.It is revered by the common people and is said to have the power to promote industry and prosperity in business.

At the end of the Heian period, Tamamo-no-Mae, who was favored by Emperor Toba, was a nine-tailed fox (demon fox), and after her true identity was discovered, she escaped from the palace.The punitive force, led by the onmyoji Abe Yasunari as their military strategist, defeated the nine-tailed fox in Nasunohara, Shimotsuke Province (around Nasu County, Tochigi Prefecture), but the nine-tailed fox that was defeated turned into a giant poisonous stone. It came to be called the "Sessho-seki" (killing stone) because any human or animal that approached the poisonous stone died.
This killing stone in Nasunohara was smashed by the priest Gen'o Osho in 1385, and the pieces were scattered all over the country to places called "Takada." Legend has it that the smashed stones also flew to this area.
