So much is going on in this video, but one thing I know a lot of people are going to ask about is why don't we have a gas generator? We do, but it's been stored for years without being used, so the electric start didn't work, and because Steves ribs are broken, he could't pull start it. It's a big generator, and I wasn't able to get it started either. Likely the carb was in need of cleaning too, and again, with both of us working all day we just didn't have the time and the means to get all the tasks done in the few hours we were home in the evening (and it was all in the darkness). But, getting it running is definitely on our list in case we have power out again for that many days. The power stations got us through it though!
Also, let's give a big pat on the back to Steve for doing all that work himself. All I wanted to do was get in there and help too, but my arm is really messed up right now. I am so frustrated with my body these days 😢. I just want to be able to work!
Anyway, we still have to clear all the trees on the other side of the creek, where the excavator can't go, so that will have to be done by hand. Hopefully we can tackle that in the next week, and get the excavator all fixed up too.
