The day started off with me catching an eastbound BNSF freight in downtown STL. Later that afternoon I caught UP loaded rail train SMIES and a CPKC transfer job between Q tower and Venice. I moved down to coapman to catch NS 219 run over the A&S Diamond with an NS ACe leading. That evening I got word of a BNSF windmill base train running from Lindenwood northbound towards Northern Illinois. I intercepted the train at Granite City IL on the UP Springfield Sub. Went over to AO smith after that to find a light engine move coming out of the yard. I then moved northward to Lenox and ran into MASBN coming off the A&S gateway sub onto the UP Springfield Sub with CSX power. Once they cleared UP freight MYCAS came south off the Pana Sub and onto the A&S gateway sub. Amtrak 21 showed soon after racing south to STL on the Springfield Sub. While I was waiting on the blade train to move I heard a horn in the distance and moved to the NS Alton district where I caught the NS high hold 5199 leading the local back south to AO Smith yard. This was a train I had been wanting to see with the high hood in daylight. Next up was a UP empty coal train heading up the Pana Sub to Hillsboro Mine. Returning to Lenox NS 121 soon showed up getting off the NS Brooklyn district and onto the A&S gateway sub. That night UP intermodal train ITUG4 met a Loram rail grinder working the area at Lenox. I finished the day off with MASYC with some unexpected power that being Progress rail tier 4 SD70ACe’s in tow. Last train of the night was NS 258 northbound at Lenox coming to a stop to wait on MASYC to clear the diamond
