Hiking the Duette Preserve

I may have waited too late in the season for this hike. Not a lot of shade out there. There was the bonus if it not being full on rainy season though. that being a small body of water with plentiful wildlife in it. I'm sure it would be less concentrated once the water level rises.
Highlights besides the gator and fish would have to be the pair of raccoons I followed along the main trail. They we snacking on snails, that I would film some of at the end of my walk. Didn't know what they were eating at the time.
There were also a good amount of kestrels on the property. The deer kept their distance. They may not of seen the hunt calendar to know they were safe this day. Pretty sure I saw a large pig running away too, but didn't get that on film.
The sandy part of the trail seems to be getting gravel over top of it. Wasn't complete yet but this place would be more bike friendly if that happens.
The route I chose took me to a couple water crossings, an observation tower, and finished with a loop so I didn't have to do everything twice.
Other wildlife to be found include meadowlarks, lots of rabbits, and woodpeckers.
Turkey and tortoises are plentiful even though this video doesn't show it.
