Geographer, explorer, journalist, broadcaster and writer, Nicholas Crane reveals the human stories told by the Channel and its pair of mirrored landscapes: the Kent Downs AONB and the Caps et Marais d'Opale Regional Natural Park in France. Together these two landscapes make up our aspiring UNESCO Cross-Channel Geopark.
This event was part of the SALT+EARTH Festival 2023, co-produced by Creative Folkestone, Folkestone Fringe, and Kent Downs AONB, in support of the Cross-Channel Geopark. SALT + EARTH explores the way the natural environments around us shape who we are and asks what the future might hold for those living on the edge.
