(22 Jul 2017) TYLER POSEY'S EMOTIONAL FAREWELL TO 'TEEN WOLF'
The cast of MTV's "Teen Wolf" kicked off their farewell tour at Comic-Con as the hit show prepares for its series finale.
Star Tyler Posey was joined by Colton Haynes, Melissa Ponzio, Dylan Sprayberry, Cody Christian, Charlie Carver, Shelley Hennig and Khylin Rhambo at the annual fan convention in San Diego.
"Oh my god. Yeah, it was totally emotional," said Posey of his final Comic-Con with the cast. "I didn't quite expect it either. It's cool. The really like genuine emotional times always come when I don't expect them to. Like the last day of 'Teen Wolf,' the last day of filming, when I got picture-wrapped. It wasn't as emotional as I thought it was going to be, but I got really choked up the days proceeding it. So it was a really cool surprise at the panel that it kind of took that turn. You know, I really expected there to be a lot of like screaming and constant chatter from the audience because it was so big. And there were so many people there and that's kind of usually how our panels go, but the tension was so thick of like the weight of us never coming back to Comic-Con panel. It was just so thick that everyone was just kind of silent and taking it in."
Posey continued: "Super different and it really created this type of emotional atmosphere, but like OK-emotional. Like it was OK. Everyone was kind of like crying on each other's shoulder kind of vibe, you know? It was really cool."
The series debuted in 2011 with a darker tone than the original "Teen Wolf" films and follows a group of werewolves and other things that go bump in the night.
Shelley Hennig recalled a full circle moment during her final scene.
"I started the show naked and I ended the show naked," she said. "I am naked in bed and I'm on a pillow and I got up and there were tears all over the pillow and I was embarrassed. And they threw a robe on me and then I walked out and the crew was there waiting as they do for all of us when we official picture-wrap. And there I was, naked in a robe, looking at all the people who have pretended to laugh at my jokes for four years and the people that made the show run."
Charlie Carver joins a slew of fan favorites returning for the show's last season.
"I don't know how much I can say about what ends up happening," explained Carver of his character. "Obviously Ethan and Jackson are hanging out in the high school in that weird little torture room. But what was really fun was going in knowing that this was going to be the last couple of episodes for 'Teen Wolf.' Everybody who had kind of left the show, whether that was Hoechlin or Colton or myself, we all called one another and said 'You're doing this right? We all have to go back. We have to celebrate this.' And there we were. And we all got to work. Like I've known Colton forever, but I've never worked with him. We were on shows at different points in time, but to get to work with one another again one last time was really, really fun."
Showrunner Jeff Davis teased that the series may live on in a "Teen Wolf" podcast, but Posey is keeping mum about details.
"Actually have no idea. I don't know what to say," said Posey who has already been approached about the project.
"Yeah, I can't wait to see who his favorite is, you know what I mean? Like who gets the call first," Hennig added.
The final season of "Teen Wolf" premieres July 30 on MTV.
