Red Dot Award: Product Design 2018 - Red Dot Gala

The award ceremony for the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2018 took place in Essen, Germany, on 9 July. Every year, it comprises the Red Dot Gala and the Designers’ Night.

During the Red Dot Gala, the laureates of the Red Dot: Best of the Best accept their trophies on stage at Essen’s opera house, the Aalto-Theater. Another highlight is the awarding of the “Red Dot: Design Team of the Year” title in front of around 1,200 international guests.

After the Red Dot Gala, the international design scene meets at the Designers’ Night in the Red Dot Design Museum, where the Red Dot winners and the winners of the Honourable Mention receive their certificates. Everybody celebrates their success together in the midst of the award-winning products, as the after-show party is simultaneously the launch of the winners’ exhibition “Design on Stage”.
