Homosexuality is not something a person will bring up whenever they talk about the Vatican. Dubbed as one of the most sacred places in Christendom, the city screams everything but homosexuality. This is why it’s undeniable that being part of the LGBTQ+ community can be a challenge if you are living in the Vatican. With countless laws against people who identify themselves as part of the community, not to mention the daily reminder that such kind of love is deemed as a sin in the Bible, I think it’s safe to say that being homosexual in the city where the Pope is can be tough. So, imagine how horrible it can be if a Priest or even a Pope decides to come out of the closet. Yes, you heard that right. However, things are starting to get better and while it is still a long run before the stigma is fully erased, small progress is still progress. Today, we will dive into the stories in the Vatican and how the relationship between the same gender survives in a place where belief and religion stand still.
