We're finishing up the install of our @Fellten-systems battery today! Last episode we ripped out the old batteries along with all of the unneeded wiring that ran to the Tesla Model S motor in this 300CD Mercedes Benz!
Now it's time to start the install. We have to make some mounts for our battery first; and luckily we can fabricate ones just like we would on a small block Chevy! And for the battery in the trunk? We can mount it just like the fuel cell in our LS3 swapped Benz!
From here it's on to the wiring! The real challenge of this battery swap. But luckily Chris Hazel is here! You might remember Chris from when we did the Twin Tesla Model S swap on our squarebody C10! He's helping us route our wires, make new plugs and harnesses. His expertise really made the project fly by and by the end of the week we were able to get the drive motor powered up and the wheels spinning!
