How to refill a (non-refillable) NovoLog FlexPen with a NovoLog PenFill cartridge

Your doctor accidentally prescribed the NovoLog PenFill cartridges instead of a box of pens, and you don't have a PenFill compatible device. All you have is a nearly empty FlexPen!

First you curse the FDA for making the refillable pens prescription-only.

Second, you watch this video and breathe a sigh of relief!

Suppose you already threw out your FlexPen: you can use the OTC Novolin-R FlexPen from Walmart!

(As a last resort, if you have some syringes around, you can use the cartridge like a vial - just don't inject air first, and draw into the syringe SLOWLY. The plunger will be pulled down by the suction.)
