7 hours at Conrail's Mohawk River bridge on Saturday, July 25, 1992 yields 12 trains. Conrail's Selkirk Branch is the freight only West/East mainline which runs northwest out of Selkirk yard and bypasses Albany and Schenectady. The line crosses the Mohawk River near Pattersonville-Rotterdam Junction NY and joins the Amtrak line from Albany-Rennsselaer approximately one mile to the west in Amsterdam, NY. I am situated on the north bank of the river looking south (east by timetable) to film westbound trains (northbound geographically) crossing the river. In the opposite direction of the bridge is one of the last remaining (at that time) classic NYC cantilever signal gantries. This signal is filmed during the passing of two eastbound trains. Loco consist info is provided in the video.
