A Estrada Nacional 2 (N2) foi a coluna dorsal do interior do país, ligando-o de norte a sul, de Chaves a Faro, numa extensão original de 739,260 km, mas atualmente termina no km 738,5.
A N2 é um retrato da identidade de Portugal, permite conhecer várias regiões do País, atravessa 11 distritos, 35 concelhos, e dezenas de vilas e aldeias, com um percurso repleto de paisagens e gastronomia de um país desconhecido.
É uma das únicas três estradas no mundo e a única na europa com a sua tipologia. Semelhantes, apenas a “Route 66”, localizada nos Estados Unidos da América e a “Ruta 40”, na Argentina.

The National Road 2 (N2) was the backbone of the country's interior, connecting it from north to south, from Chaves to Faro, with an original length of 739.260 km, but currently ending at km 738.5.
The N2 is a portrait of Portugal's identity, allowing visitors to discover several regions of the country, crossing 11 districts, 35 municipalities, and dozens of towns and villages, with a route full of landscapes and cuisine from an unknown country.
It is one of only three roads in the world and the only one in Europe with its typology. Similar are the only ones: “Route 66”, located in the United States of America, and “Route 40”, in Argentina.
