This game doesn't have area permanence. Apparently the dev decided that isn't required. What? Are you kidding me?
What I mean by area permanence is that once you clear an area the area is cleared of mobs meaning if you teleport out to sell your gear, and and teleport back into the area should remain cleared. The developer has decided to allow the area to be refreshed with enemy mobs. Who does this? Who thought that was a great idea? Can't be someone who played games of this sort before. If any of the team members played any hack and slash they would have known NOT to do this.
That is a very basic game mechanic which pushes people to move forward to gather better loot, and level up. There is absolutely no reason for this developer to ignore such a basic necessity for this sort of game. There is no other hack and slash game which does what this dev has done at least to my knowledge.
This game is seriously flawed. At this moment I can teleport out sell my gear and take the portal back clear the area again then go sell the loot, teleport back and clear it again, and again, and again and never move from that area. Level up like crazy, get all fresh loot, make hundred of thousands of coin on one level alone.
There is no reason for me to go forward outside of just wanting to get through the story, and be done with it. There is absolutely no reason for me to go back, create a new character, and try a different build.
My suggestion to the developer is this. Either add in area permanence or a strict cooldown period in real time so it forces the player to move on. If the player wishes to wait that is up to them but after a bit I highly doubt anyone would want too, and just move on to the next location of the story line.
As it sits now the game is pointless. No point to move on but to get the story done which isn't all that great the first place (none of them really are), but if the dev thinks that the story is strong enough to have people overlook the potential loop farming then they are sadly mistaken. There are people out there who are really quite disappointed in this developer, and rightfully so.
