On her evening walk in her residential society, Kiran Grewal faced an unsettling experience on 1 July 2025 when she was allegedly eve-teased not by a grown man, but by a seven-year-old boy.
The boy called out: “O laal pari, chalegi kya?” and repeated the remarks again. Shockingly, a security guard laughed instead of intervening. Kiran confronted both the boy and the bystanders, later sharing the incident on Instagram.
She highlighted that such behaviour isn’t created by children themselves but learned from adults, media, and surroundings. “If we don’t correct this now, what people call ‘masti’ today becomes harassment tomorrow,” she said.
The viral video sparked discussions across news outlets like NDTV, DNA, and The Logical Indian, with many blaming bad parenting and society’s silence. Kiran later met the boy’s parents; his mother apologised and admitted that children often pick up behaviour from mobile phones and peers.
This incident raises an urgent call for early value-based education. Parents and communities must watch what children consume, teach respect, boundaries, empathy, and model sincere apologies. Eve-teasing doesn’t start in adulthood, it begins in childhood, and only firm correction can stop it.
