My 17th Nice Cannes Marathon 2025 (4k)

This the story of my 17th time at the Nice to Cannes marathon at the age of 68. This is also my 30th marathon of all time. I have run marathons in Athens (2), Paris (2), Rome (1), Barcelona (1), Marrakesh (1), Monaco (5) and York-UK (1) but mostly in Nice (17).

I have completed every Nice to Cannes marathon since the event started in 2008. I suspect there are not many other people that have done this.

My best time was a 3h53 in 2009 (aged 52). My worst was last year (2024) at 5h42 (aged 67). This year my final time was 5h25 which was my best time since 2021. As you will see from the video though it was not all "plain sailing".

These days I aim for 4h30 but end up around 5h30. In 2021 I did an incredible 4h39 but I don't know how!
