In this epic journey, I'll share the highs and lows of my expedition, from the exhilarating moments of triumph on the surrounding peaks through one very emotional day in particular and some very windy challenges I faced along the way.
Imagine battling wind gusts so powerful they could knock you off your feet! Along the journey, I'll show you some of the most beautiful views of surrounding peaks and valleys, I'll give you a tour of the camp sites including
1. Camp Confluencia
At an Elevation: 3390 meters (11,122 feet)
Hiking time from Horcones (trailhead): approx. 4 to 5 hours
Hiking time from Confluencia to Plaza de Mulas base camp: approx. 7 to 9 hours
2. BASE CAMP - Plaza de Mulas Camp
This is the base camp used for those who wish to climb Aconcagua by way of the Normal Route
At an elevation: 4370 meters (14,337 feet)
3. Camp Canada: 4910 meters above sea level / 16108 feet
4. Camp Nido de Condores: 5380 meters above sea level / 17650 feet
5. Camp Colera: 5870 meters above sea level / 19258 feet
6. THE SUMMIT
