Force 5 sailing on a midwestern US reservoir in the remnants of a tropical storm. At the start I am talking about how a storm that came ashore in the Gulf is now here and how from the launching ramp the conditions look placid, but that the rain is flattening the water. I'm also in the lee of trees in the launch area. Weather is low overcast, 60F with rain showers and wind 11K gusting to 25 from the ENE. There were a few brief gusts that most likely passed 30K. The wind was very turbulent and shifty the whole time. It was one of those days where it felt like the wind was being switched off and on with a switch. No lightning -one bright spot is just the camera adjusting the exposure. Sailed for 57 minutes. First time I had the boat out in a long time. First time to strap a GoPro camera to the boat.
