Over the Undertow | A New Zealand Women's Surfing Film

Over The Undertow follows the journey of four top young female surfers embarking on a surf trip across the North Island of New Zealand (Aotearoa), while they anecdote and relate over their shared experiences in surfing. The film challenges perspectives and assumptions of women’s limits in surfing, whilst also highlighting how far women’s surfing has progressed, and encouraging a future generation of female surfers.

The female experience can be as diverse as their natural surroundings, at once elegant and rugged, resilient and challenged.
