Alpbach is a pretty little village in the Tyrolean alps in Austria. It is known for hosting the European economic forum, which has been taking place every summer for decades.

The village set up a rule in the 50s that all houses had to be built with wooden clad exteriors, just as it was the tradition in the Tyrolean mountains for centuries.

Therefore, Alpbach is one of the last places in Austria, where you can see traditional houses of the region. The village was also voted one of the most beautiful villages in Austria and Europe, so it's well worth a visit.
