Good day and welcome back to the channel. Today, we're doing an egg bake casserole type thing that's keto and delicious. In fat, even your friends and family that aren't doing keto will enjoy it! It's also exceptionally versatile. It is: The smoked chuckie, cheese and egg casserole!
The awesome thing about this dish is that it is SOOOOO incredibly flexible!
Just add whatever groceries you like to make it your own!
I happened to have smoked chuck roast available, so I used it for the dish. I also happened to have some mushrooms left over after getting some for pizza night. For this dish, that's no problem. Just toss everyone in the pool and you're good to go!
Don't like mushrooms? No problem! Just omit them entirely or sub in something else (say...spinach?).
Don't have smoked chuck roast available? No problem! Sub in some bacon or some ham or some sausage or whatever your favorite protein happens to be.
Basics for the dish are:
a bunch of eggs
some cream
some seasoning
some cheese
some protein
some veg
NOTE: All of these options are just that-options. You can customize the dish to suit your needs!
The other terrific thing about this dish-it's scalable.
Meaning, if you are (say) tasked with feeding a bunch of people before going on a ski trip, or you have family over for the holidays and you're wondering how to feed everyone, you can just adjust the ratios for this dish to feed as many people as you need.
Not cooking for a crowd? Use this dish to help with your meal planning! Make a bunch and then eat off it during the week.
This dish:
9 large eggs
~ 3-4 ounces mushrooms, sliced and then sautéed in butter
~ 6 ounces smoked chuck roast, diced
~ 3 scallions, diced
~ 1/4 cup heavy cream
~ 1/4 teaspoon each: salt, garlic powder, onion powder, Badia's Complete Seasoning; chipotle powder (omit if you don't want any heat)
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Prep your 8 * 8 pan with melted butter
Mix all the eggs really well. Get some FLOOF going!
Add cream, seasonings, and any leftover melted butter to the eggs.
Pour eggs into pan and then the rest of the ingredients.
Ensure even dispersal of the ingredients, then drop the pan into the preheated oven. Bake for ~ 25 minutes, or until the center of the pan is no longer super jiggly.
You're done!
Grab a slice and enjoy!
