I'm very certain this knife is from the 1960s or early 1970s, and this is a simple repair that anyone can perform at home. There was considerable damage to the back of the blade, the paint on the handle was flaking, and the edge needed to be completely restored. You should be able to restore your vintage knife as well if you adhere to the straightforward instructions in this video.
Tools used
80 & 120 Sand papper
400 sand papper for the ferrule
DMT 1200 diamond plate
DMT 6000 diamond plate
Home made strop
Autosol metal polish for the trop
2mm Veg tanned leather for the sheath
Red and brown water-based Fiebing's leather dye
All filmed with a iPhone Pro Max
