Jaw-Dropping Restoration of Two HQ Holden Utes Muscle Cars

On todays episode we pack in 2 restorations of 2 HQ Holden Utes. Anton and Anne are a husband and wife team from here in W.A. They have brought there well body Ute and one tonner back from the brink of being left to rot.

First we talk to Anton about his Ute. This Ute was originally a farm Ute on Anne's family farm. After being left in a shed for years Anton and Anne brought it to town and got to work. The Ute was completely stripped and put on a rotisserie. Anton had a very clear view of what he wanted. A build that is inspired by the builds of the 80's. Lots of chrome, detailed undercarriage and a 308 V8 engine. So the old clapped out 179 engine went out and the 308 V8 engine went in. It's backed by a 4 speed manual and 12 bolt 3.55 diff. The paint is a custom mix and shimmers steel blue in the sunlight. Riding on 15" Weld Draglites with Bridgestone Eagers and raised white lettering. I love this homage to 80's 90's street machine building. It reminds me of back in the day. Thanks Anton.

Then we have Anne's HQ Holden 1 tonner tray back. Make no mistake Anne is just as into these old cars as Anton. It wasn't long after the HQ Holden Ute was finished that covid set in. And that set them in motion to get another project. This time it was a 1 tonner and it was being built for Anne.

Anton's need to keep busy they were much more hands on with this one. It had a bit of rust so he got plenty of welding practice and he even welded up the tray. They didn't go to the level that they went with the Ute so they painted and polished lots of parts themselves. They trekked out woop woop location and scored a 253 V8 Engine in great running order and installed it along with a 4 speed manual gearbox and 3:55 diff. The paint colour is inspired from something they saw on the road and again there painter customised it up a bit to make it shimmer that little bit more. Even though they didn't go as far with this build this one tonner presents immaculately and is a credit to there attention to detail. Can't wait to see what they do next.
