"We’ll be cutting some very popular Democrat programs that aren’t popular with Republicans, frankly, because that’s the way it works," he added.
President Donald Trump held his eighth Cabinet meeting amid tensions over the government shutdown and National Guard deployments in Illinois and Oregon. The meeting, which ran shorter than usual, came on the heels of an agreement between Israel and Hamas on the first phase of the Trump administration's peace plan. Later this afternoon, Trump will meet with the president of Finland.
