RS3M review - A cube thats a year old | 12.09 average

Helllllllllo everybody,

Unfortunately I am sick right now and that's why theres no voice over :(

Last week I got 2 new 3x3’s, and one of them, was the RS3M v5; and I must say, this cube is extraordinary.

But you know that, EVERYONE, knows that.

But why is it extraordinary? What makes it special.

Well for starters, at the cost of only 33 Australian dollars, you have: a dual-adjustment system, maglev, and a ball core - and don’t forget, a cute robot you can display your retired old main.

But most importantly, this cube is the perfect entry to flagship there is.

It includes staples of flagship cubes: a dual-adjustment system, a ball core, and maglev, but without edge-magnets and magnet adjustments.

This intermediate choice of features is great for slowly integrating these functions into a cube.

Now to the cube itself.

It has a clacky and slightly cheap feel. I can really feel it when i’m trying to push tps - previous mains like the hudong and gts3m have a much more premium feel with honestly better turning. However, neither of them come close to being as fast as the v5.

At the compression level I’ve chosen, 0 clicks, the cube is slightly flexible, and disgustingly fast. I’ve managed to break my ao12, for 3 solves in a row, bring it down to 11.3 seconds

I’ve gotten so many sub-10’s and have had many 10 second averages.

I think this cube is the perfect upgrade from anyone coming back to cubing, or looking for a new main. It’s affordable and such a joy to solve with.

My one main issue are the corners of the centre pieces, I often lock up because of the corners catching on them. However, locking up is a big issue for the cube in general, as no matter how low I go for compressions, nor how loose, I have corners catching on edges or centres.

But thats a skill issue, and the cube is just telling me to get better.
