As an undergraduate accounting major, Matt LaLonde successfully organized Illinois' very first tool library. In this talk, he recounts the library's humble beginnings and how an idea became a brick and mortar reality that improves the lives of community members. Matt is a graduate of the Illinois Wesleyan Class of 2014. While an IWU student, Matt was active in the Action Research Center and spearheaded the development of The Tool Library at the West Bloomington Revitalization Project. He currently lives in Chicago with his wife, Kathryn, and works in tax at KPMG. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
