In late 2023 I had ongoing lower back pain and sciatica (I work from home and am deskbound 12+ hours a day) and couldn't hang out easily at ground level with my young son.
I've done yoga on and off for 15 years but never maintained a regular practice. I found myself at a festival and there was a interlude where yoga was done for around 15 minutes that included some specific postures. Just this one set of movements the one time helped a lot with my ongoing issues so when I got home I decided to set about doing a daily yoga practice incorporating these postures specifically (as well as 2 others I've added since).
For the first time in my life I've maintained a daily habit of yoga and the results after even a few months (but as at March 2024 close to 7) have been astounding. It's short and simple enough that I've literally only missed one day (when a march fly bite on my ankle meant I couldn't actually stand or flex at the ankles!)
I've spoken to dozens of guys (and some girls!) since then, mostly in their 30s and 40s who have asked me to share the sequence so this video is intended for that.
I have to disclaim that I'm not a yoga instructor and this video is intended for someone who has probably done a bit of yoga here and there and is familiar already with the postures that I'm covering.
It is more to give you a set of postures that cover a lot of the areas that a deskbound 30 - 50 year old might need to improve so they can get back to the flexibility they had as a toddler, just like I have :)
