This video shows Dr. Evan Matthews explaining how to create a publication quality graph using Excel. The example data in this video represents the difference between standing and supine (laying on back) heart rate in beats per minute.
EXPORTING IN HIGH QUALITY via PowerPoint
If the graph is copied and pasted from Excel into a PowerPoint slide set the instructions in the link below can be used to force PowerPoint slides to export in high resolution. The instructions require manually editing Windows registry files, but be used to export in up to 1200dpi.
-Exit PowerPoint and all other Office apps.
-Open Registry Editor: Press Win + R, type regedit, and press Enter.
-Navigate to your PowerPoint version's key (e.g., HKEY_CURRENT_USER - Software - Microsoft - Office - 16.0 - PowerPoint - Options).
-Right-click in the right pane, select New - DWORD (32-bit) Value, and name it ExportBitmapResolution.
-Double-click ExportBitmapResolution, set Base to Decimal, and enter 300 (or higher) for the Value data (this is your DPI).
-Click OK, close Registry Editor, and restart PowerPoint.
-Export: Go to File - Save As, choose JPEG, select your location, and when prompted, choose to export "Just This One" slide or all slides.
