India has been ranked 16th among 154 countries in the newly launched Responsible Nations Index (RNI), a global framework that assesses how responsibly countries use their power in relation to their citizens, the environment, and the wider world. The index, released on Monday, places Singapore at the top, followed by Switzerland and Denmark. The Responsible Nations Index is an initiative of the World Intellectual Foundation and is the outcome of a three-year academic and policy exercise. The rankings aim to move beyond traditional measures of power by focusing on ethical governance, environmental responsibility, and a nation’s impact on the global community.
