This is the Tipuanna Tipu tree, also called the (Pride of Bolivia) From my research it seems that the Tipu tree thrives in the hot climates of the desert southwest, in cities such as Las Vegas, NV. and Phoenix, AZ. It also thrives in parts of Southern California. I chose it due to it being a fast grower and offering a large shade canopy.
