He Scammed Me on Xbox, I Get My Money Back. This scammer wasn’t a total loss for me, as I managed to get my $25 back. The scammer had 2 CashApp accounts that were locked for scamming. CashApp warned me for my protection, I am refunded the money TWICE. The scammer’s excuse was that he was doing honest business with the CashApp accounts but people reported him for a refund. After scamming me and wasting my time, we learned that he’s a scammer and that’s all he’s ever going to be. The scammer claimed to be a fan of my videos which really broke me up inside but what can we do? Exposing scammers to protect our gamers is my hobby.
I was in the Xbox LFG, shopping for scammers. I stumbled upon a post by “upoffsaks,” who claimed to be selling or trading a Fortnite account for $20-$25. The scammer knew who I was but didn’t say anything until AFTER I sent him a $25 gift card. It had to be a $25 gift card since his two CashApp accounts were disabled for scamming and the lowest amount for a DoorDash gift card I can put is $25, not $20. The scammer sent me a video of the Fortnite account and actually sent me the login details for the Xbox account. I managed to gain access to his Xbox account; however, I couldn’t claim it because his account had 2FA enabled.
I got the scammer back into an Xbox Party Chat and told him I couldn’t claim the account due to his 2FA being on it. After requesting to remove the 2FA, the scammer left the Xbox Party Chat and blocked me. Before that, he said he knew who I was which was a problem since he would know how I deal with scammers on Xbox. He did apologize but at the end of the day, he is still a scammer with a history of scamming other people. As a plan B in the event of him scamming me, I used my decoy Xbox account to message the little scammer DURING the transaction process to give him the impression that I’m a potential scam victim.
That decoy Xbox account didn’t work out, since the scammer knew who I was and of the videos I post of exposing scammers on Xbox. He told the decoy account he knew who I was and eventually blocked me. Messaging the scammer’s friends wasn’t useful as he didn’t have a lot of friends. Besides that, his friends never responded anyway. I attempted to cancel the gift card I sent him. It worked to my surprise…
I was never told that the gift card was canceled after being told they will let me know. So I called DoorDash myself and they told me the gift card was canceled but weren’t sure if they can refund me for it. DoorDash told me they will call me back within an hour about the cancellation and the possible refund. But three days went by, and I still didn’t receive a call back. I opened up my DoorDash account though and saw I was reimbursed for the money I sent to the little scammer on Xbox. I was never told about it which was a problem, as I waited days, slowly editing this video. Hence, this video had to be rushed since I only found out about the refund three days AFTER calling DoorDash and attempting to cancel the gift card.
It turned out the scammer won’t be able to buy a Happy Meal with the money I sent him. So for good old times, I’ll buy myself that Happy Meal while watching this video to possibly celebrate the scammer getting scammed, and you should too!
