Sir Keir Starmer has begun to appoint his cabinet after entering Downing Street with a speech in which he promised to “rebuild” Britain.
Angela Rayner and Pat McFadden were the first members of Sir Keir’s expected top team to then join him in Downing Street as he began his ministerial appointments. Earlier he addressed the nation from Downing Street after being made Prime Minister by the King following Labour’s stunning election victory.
