1) The credentials required for establishing a FIX Session (SenderCompID, TargetCompID, Username and Password)

2) How a FIX Session is instantiated between the trader and the broker

3) How to construct a Logon (35=A) FIX message using the above

4) What the broker's FIX server does in response to Logon messages

5) What the CheckSum (tag 10) of a FIX message is, and how it is calculated

6) How the BodyLength (tag 9) of a FIX message is calculated

7) How algorithmic traders can use Open Source FIX Engines like QuickFIX to reduce development time and focus instead on developing the logic and application flow of their algorithmic trading strategies.
