In this fifth video in this series, Om Swami shares one of his experiences when he was living all alone in the higher regions of the Himalayas.
He says, one day when he was standing outside his small hut, he suddenly saw a huge swarm of bees charging straight towards him. At that point, he had the choice of escaping into the hut for protection. Om Swami says that his only thought at that time was that in case he got stung then he would not be in a position to sit for his sadhana. But, he also felt that since he meant no harm towards them, the bees would sense that energy too and therefore not harm him. Prior to this incident, one year back he did a sadhana when he napped for only two hours in a day, as the rest of the time he was doing intense sadhana. During one of those days, he encountered an incident in which he saved a bee caught in a spider web. At that point, he felt strongly that an unsaid pact was made between him and the bees and that they would not harm or hurt him ever. No sooner did he save the bee, many more honey bees came, buzzed around him, and flew away. Om Swami says that this incident happened in the year 2009 and now fast forward to 2010 September or October, when he saw the swarm of bees heading straight at him, he was certain that they would not harm him, and even if they did he would not crush them. He says, that he just stood there and sure enough, the swarm of bees just circled around him, not one of them ran onto him and flew away. Om Swami says, that this experience gave him a lot of conviction to live in the Himalayas with utmost peace and harmony with all the living creatures.
